● Requirement Confirmation & Technical Evaluation
We first confirm all custom parameters with clients, including base paper color (blue, green, yellow, etc.), paper width, roll diameter, core size, thermal coating grade, printing content (logo, text, patterns, serial numbers), printing position, and quantity. Our technical team reviews the feasibility of artwork, thermal coating compatibility and production capacity, then issues technical specifications for client approval.

● Raw Material Preparation: Colored Base Paper
Instead of printing color on white thermal paper, we adopt dyed base stock. The paper pulp is tinted during paper making to get a solid background color. Then the colored base paper is coated with a high-performance thermal-sensitive layer on one side. This ensures uniform background color, no color fading under normal storage, and stable thermal imaging function.

● Artwork Making & Plate Production
After receiving client's vector artwork (AI, PDF etc), we adjust colors, size and layout to fit the paper roll. We produce flexographic printing plates for surface printing. If variable data (QR codes, batch numbers) is required, we set up the digital printing program at this stage.

● Inline Printing on Thermal Paper Rewinder
The colored thermal base roll goes through the rewinding & printing line. Custom logo, brand information, or graphics are printed on the non-thermal side (or thermal side per request). Strict registration control guarantees consistent pattern position across all rolls. We use food-safe, low-odor water-based ink to avoid damaging the thermal coating.

● Thermal Performance Inspection & Quality Testing
Samples are taken to conduct thermal print testing with standard thermal printers. We check image clarity, blackness, anti-fade performance, scratch resistance, and color uniformity of the colored base paper. Dimensions, roll tension, and core adhesion are also verified.

● Slitting to Custom Roll Size & Final Inspection

The large mother roll is slit into required widths and rewound to customized outer diameter and roll length. We control winding tightness to prevent paper deformation, telescoping, or unwinding during use. Finished rolls are visually inspected for printing defects, spots, and scratches.
