The main component of toilet paper raw materials is plant fiber. In addition to the three main components of cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin, there are also other components with lower content, such as resin, ash, and auxiliary components such as sodium sulfate. From the perspective of papermaking, efforts should be made to retain cellulose during the pulp making process in order to improve the yield of sanitary pulp and paper strength.
In order to improve the pulp yield and paper strength, it is also necessary to retain as much hemicellulose as possible during the pulp making process. The more lignin is contained in the raw materials, the more difficult it is to make pulp, and the more chemicals need to be consumed. Toilet paper is a type of household paper, including tissues, napkins, and other paper products. Toilet paper is usually made from cotton pulp, wood pulp, straw pulp, and waste pulp. High quality products are made from raw wood pulp, which is similar to the manufacturing process of regular paper.
The only requirement is to make it extremely thin and fragile, with the aim of rotting when encountering water and achieving environmental protection. In the process of manufacturing household paper with native wood pulp, in order to achieve its good softness, the manufacturer will add a certain amount of native short wood pulp fibers to the pulp, but the combination of short fibers with other long fibers is not very strong.
